Sketch of Caravaggio's 'The Card Sharps'
Drawing after Caravaggio's 'The Card Sharps', c.1596; original painting in the Kimbell Art Museum, Fort Worth, USA. It shows an expensively-dressed but unworldly young man playing cards with another boy. The second boy has extra cards tucked in his belt behind his back, out of sight from the mark but not the viewer, and an older man is looking over the dupe's shoulder, making signs to his young accomplice.
