Parade of the Planets

The most challenging planets, Mercury, Uranus & Neptune, all used IR imaging to reveal surface details & have been colourised to match their more normal visual appearance. A UV filter is used to image Venus's clouds & this is shown in greyscale- again to match its normal visual colouration. Taken with Home-built 444mm Dobsonian Newtonian reflector ( Mercury used 222mm Dobsonian); Various IR filters for Uranus, Neptune, Mercury, Saturn (L). UV filter for Venus; Home-built Equatorial Platform; ZWO ASI174MC/ASI174MM/ASI290MM; f12 to f36. Runner-up of Planets, Comets & Asteroids cateogry in Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2018.
