Hoverspeed Great Britain; Passenger/cargo vessel

Scale: 1: 100. A fullhull model of the fastcat passenger vessel Hoverspeed Great Britain (1990).

The lower portion of the catamaran hull is painted a royal blue with the top sides and some of the super structure painted in white. The decks, roof space, stern ramps are finished in a dark grey and aluminum finish. The fore deck is fitted with guards rails, running from the bow to the bridge section, bollards and fair leads are mounted on deck. The bridge accommodation is complete with a wide circular glass area with an array of navigational equipment and whipp aerials on the roof and the mast above. Along the white top sides the name Seacat is painted in house colours of blue and red with a long expanse of windows just above the passenger accommodation. Fitted along the sides of the vessel, are six cylindrical shaped life rafts set into the superstructure as well as a semi-inflatable life boat and davit mounted at the stern. There is a large rectangular shaped ramp at the stern used for passenger and vechular access situated on the main deck with two smaller decks below on the individual catamaran hulls. These are fitted with an array of bollards and fare leads and surrounded by a guard rail on stantion. The model is mounted on four turned brass conical shaped pilars, connected to a wooden baseboard, complete with a perspex top.
