The hull is painted black with red at the bow and stern waterline and a narrow white stripe below the bulwarks running the entire length of the vessel. The decks are painted a uniform off-white with pale grey cargo hatch covers. The forecastle includes a single hatch, a pair of cranes and a tall foremast. The short foredeck has a single hatch served by a pair of cranes. The superstructure occupies the remainder of the length of the vessel and incorporates a long open promenade. Beneath this deck, at the stern is a short shelter deck. At the front of the long cargo deck is a hatch served by two pairs of cranes either side of it. Aft of the forward hatch is a raised open flying bridge with an open pilot house atop it. There are a total of 26 lifeboats, stowed on the port and starboard cargo deck, all on davits, some of which are double-banked. Amidships there are two funnels, elliptical in section, painted black. Clustered around each funnel are four ventilators, also painted black. Aft of the funnels are a further four small hatches, inline, served by eight cranes. Positioned between the rearmost hatches is a mainmast. On base of model "98".
