On board the Foochow pole junk (trader) 3179 anchored at Weihaiwei
The photographer is on the port side of the waist looking aft and to starboard from near the mainmast showing a cargo hatch in the foreground and the open sliding doors to the chart house. A capstan is on the chart house roof. The mainsail is stowed fore and aft and the mizzen mast can be seen in the background. The photographer was in the area in the periods 3 June to 7 October 1937 and 8 June to 4 September 1938. Negatives numbers P34519 to P34540 are all of this vessel taken on the same occasion.
