Ordnance model; Gun model

Scale: Unknown. A model of a naval gun on a sea service carriage. The gun is turned in wood and painted black; the underside would suggest it was originally gloss paint. It is mounted on a wooden carriage with wheels, the forward pair is missing, and the gun is held in place with brass clamps over the trunnions. Of the two remaining wheels on the rear of the carriage, only one has its metal retaining pin fitted to the axle. The model has an old paper label dated 1933 from the Science Museum, with its accession number "1864-29", the date "23/03/33" and the store number "10427". On the reverse is the reference to the 1869 South Kensington Museum catalogue "7.B 52 P187". The wooden truck is also inscribed with the South Kensington Museum accession number and the catalogue reference.
