James Robson (also known as Tony) was a Chinese man who had been found as a castaway baby and taken on board 'Cutty Sark' by the wife of the Captain. The child was brought to London and grew up at Poplar. Robson became a seaman and cook on 'Cutty Sark' between 1885 and 1895.
