Female pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read
Ann Bonny and Mary Read convicted of piracy 28 November 1720 at a Court of Vice Admiralty held at St Jago de la Vega, Jamaica.' Mary Read (1690-1720) dressed as a man and fought in the English army and navy, before joining pirate Calico 'Jack' Rackham. Anne Bonny also sailed with Rackham's crew where she met Read.
