The English pursue the Spanish fleet east of Plymouth on 31 July - 1 August, 1588
These charts were based on Lord Howard's account of the Spanish Armada's attempt to invade England in 1588. Here the Armada is pursued through the night by a small detachment led by Howard. The rest of the English fleet should have been led by Drake but he is away to the south, capturing a Spanish ship.
