Chart dedicated as follows 'To the Mayor and Free Burgesses of the Borough of Fowey, this plan of the Harbour of Fowey, laid down from an actual survey by Mr. George Thomas in the year 1811, is inscribed by Reginald Pole Carew'. Reginald Pole Carew had travelled extensively on British diplomatic missions and was MP for Fowey between 1796 and 1812.
