The cable-laying ship 'Telconia'

Oil painting. The letters of the name '... onia' on the bow and photographs identify the ship as the CS 'Telconia'  built in 1909 by Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson for the Telegraph Construction and Maintenance Company (a subsidiary of the Atlantic Telegraph Company): it remained in service until late 1934, when sold for scrapping. The elegant clipper bow typical of these ships - and 'Telconia was 212 feet long, so a large example - has been rather foreshortened by Everett's viewpoint. The quay shown is probably somewhere on the Thames since there is a Thames barge in the background to the leftt, but it does not look like that of the cable works in East Greenwich which is where such ships often took it on board.
