Circular Quay, Sydney, with the 'Cutty Sark' loading wool
One of the most famous clippers engaged in the wool trade was the 'Cutty Sark', seen here loading wool at Circular Quay, Sydney. Wool was one of Australia's main exports to Britain and many ships made regular trips between London and Sydney or Melbourne. The 'Cutty Sark' is preserved as a museum ship at Greenwich Pier, only five minutes' walk from the National Maritime Museum. A visit to her decks provides a unique insight into the era of the tall ships.
