Portuguese on board 'Ferreira'
Image information
Portuguese on board 'Ferreira'
Several Portuguese-speaking seamen served on 'Cutty Sark' (1869) between 1874 and 1877. Most served on the Australian route and one Portuguese deserted in Sydney. However this photograph of two possible Portuguese seamen was taken around 1921, when 'Cutty Sark' was called 'Ferreira'.
