A Dutch flagship at anchor with states yachts and other craft
On the right, a large ship in port-bow view is at anchor wearing the Zeeland ensign, the Flushing jack, a flag at the main and pendant at the fore. A smalschip is running past her to port. A States yacht is at anchor to starboard. A bezan yacht is under sail on the left. In the background beyond, a States yacht is at anchor with a flag at the masthead.
This drawing is one of six that show something approaching the Younger's style in delicacy of drawing and fluidity of wash, but the hard ruled horizons and the handling of the wash in the distant ships suggest the work of the Elder. The work is dated by the subjects and the similarity in manner to PAF6463.
