A Dutch ship arriving at Naples
Image information
A Dutch ship arriving at Naples
A Dutch ship is portrayed entering an Italian port, apparently Naples. The ship has the crest of the States General, as well as the crest of a young prince riding on horseback, on the stern of the ship. As a result it is thought likely that the ship is called the 'Jong Prins Te Paard', which means the 'Young Prince on Horseback'. A small local craft in the foreground observes its progress.
