A Prospect of Greenwich Hospital from the River
An axial perspective view of Greenwich Hospital from a position above the river, looking south towards the Queen's House, with the Royal Observatory visible on the hill above in Greenwich Park. The stern of a small Royal Naval warship heading downstream appears on the left, as does that of a royal yacht, firing a salute, as it heads upstream on the right. What appears to be a Dutch sprit-rigged dogger is in the centre, heading downstream in port-bow view. Thames wherries (one under sail) and other boats make their way past on the river and many figures populate the grounds of the Hospital and the paved riverfront walk.
