Anchor model

Scale: Unknown. A model of a Tyzack's triple grip anchor, 1889, made entirely in steel and plated, possibly, in nickel. The plating is heavily worn and tarnished a dark grey colour. The shank is rectangular in section with rounded short sides and the top bulges to accommodate a D-ring shackle that swivels on a flush fitting rivet. The bottom of the shank is forked and between the forks is a small pair of fluked arms. On the undersides of these flukes are attached two triangular sections with holes passing through them. A tubular iron bar passes through the forks and armed flukes enabling the shank to pivot in an arc of about 90 degrees. At either end of the tubular bar is a pair of large vertically positioned arms with prominent straight edged flukes with pointed tops. Next to these large arms, and effectively capping the tubular bar, is a third pair of arms. These are shaped similar to a boomerang and at either end of each pair there are integral flukes.
