Anchor model

Scale: Unknown. A model of a stockless anchor by John Green patented and sanctioned in 1904. The model is made entirely from aluminium with the shank comprising of a rectangular section with two rounded faces. The pivoting crown piece is secured by a large single bolt running through from either side of the two square arms. The crown itself is a rectangular block, the lower portion of which is rounded, whilst the upper part is cut away to accommodate the two vertical tapering arms, both of which finish in mitre-shaped palms. At the top of the stock is a swivelling D-shackle held by a single pin. The shank has been cast with the inscriptions: 'GREEN'S "QUICK GRIP" PATENT' and 'JOHN GREEN OLD HILL STAFFS'.
