Anchor model
Scale: Unknown. A model of a Taylor's Dreadnought patent anchor made entirely in steel or iron and patinated a dark grey finish. The shank is rectangular in section with slightly rounded short sides and is rounded at the top where it incorporates a D-shaped shackle that swivels on a round-headed bolt. Along one wide length of the shackle is: 'Taylor's patent "Dreadnought"'. The shackle pivots on the crown in an arc of about seventy degrees. The crown, when viewed from below, consists of two rectangular blocks of metal, with a narrow gap between them which marks the centre of the anchor. Straddling this gap are two longer blocks of metal, one of which has a bolt or rivet passing through it. The crown is stepped on either side terminating in two rectangular plates which have slightly rounded corners. One vertical face of the crown is inscribed: 'All forgings'. Springing upward and outward from the middle of the upper surface of the crown is a pair of tapering arms that terminate in spear-shaped flukes.
