Anchor model

Scale: Unknown. A model of a Hall's anchor improved by N. Hingley & Sons Ltd, sanctioned in 1923. The model is made entirely in aluminium alloy. The shank is square in section with rounded sides and at the top of the shank there is a D-shackle that pivots on a rivet. The shank pivots on the crown through an arc of approximately 80 degrees. The bottom of the crown is slightly convex and there is a rectangular aperture through which the bottom of the shank can be seen. The pivoting mechanism is held in place using two plates and a pair of bolts. The arms are slightly convex and on their upper face the flukes, with small lugs on their points, sweep upwards vertically to approximately half the height of the shank. Along the length of two sides of the shank is: 'HALLS. LATEST IMPROVED PATENT' and 'N. HINGLEY. & SONS LD SOLE MAKERS'.
