This sketch of 'Bodiam Castle' would very probably have been done by Louisa Herschel from life on a family holiday. It is signed by the artist. Being so large and covering such a wide range of ages, the Herschel family rarely if at all went on holiday together but would instead go away in small groups. Bodiam Castle is in East Sussex and is now owned by the National Trust.
