Bomber formations, vapour trails and clouds. Marlag 'O' 1945
During the time spent by Worsley at Marlag 'O' he made a number of perceptive portraits of his fellow officers, as well as paintings and drawings of his companions involved in everyday activities. This watercolour of the sky demonstrates Worsley's skill and versatility as an artist. It suggests a sense of space and freedom in contrast to the confines of the camp from which it is viewed. The watercolour is signed and dated 'John Worsley Marlag 'O' 1945'.
