Bone china plate
Bone china plate printed with a full-colour reproduction of George Arnald's painting of the explosion of 'l'Orient', flagship of the French Admiral Brueys at the Battle of the Nile 1798, while engaged by 'HMS Swiftsure' and 'HMS Alexander' right. The cobalt blue border is decorated with gold stars and a formalised rope design with insets of anchors. Britannia is shown at the top of the picture in the centre. The National Maritime Museum's three anchor device is printed on the back and the inscription: 'THE MARITIME ENGLAND PLATES No.2 THE BATTLE OF THE NILE, 1798 This plate depicts the explosion of Admiral de Bruey's flagship L'Orient at the Battle of the Nile, flanked by H.M.S. Swiftsure to the left and H.M.S. Alexander to the right. Produced with the approval of the National Maritime Museum, this edition is limited to two thousand plates of which this is Number 1.' The maker's name is printed on the reverse and the plate is in its original box.

We print everything to order so delivery times may vary but all framed pictures are despatched within 5-7 days via courier or recorded mail.
Due to the coronovirus pandemic and Brexit situation, current shipping times may be longer, particularly for destinations outside the UK.
Delivery to the UK is £10 for a single framed print.
