Oval, gold-coloured metal brooch, with a crown at the top and a rope twist border. The brooch is decorated with a gold foul anchor set on an enamelled navy blue background. Inscribed on a white bend are the letters 'RNFUSW', which stand for Royal Naval Friendly Union of Sailors Wives. This organisation was instituted in 1893, and was open to the wives of officers, warrant officers, petty officers or men of the Royal Navy or Marines.
