Butterfield dial, reverse
Butterfield dial for latitudes 40-60 north. The compass has cardinal, quadrantal and intermediate points indicated by French initials. The by-points are also shown. The compass base is marked 'Premier Cadran' (first dial) and carries a table of latitudes (consisting mainly of towns in France) continuing on the rest of the dial-plate back. It has an octagonal case made of black Moroccan leather with red velvet lining, a push-button clasp and two hook fasteners (all brass).

Delivery to the UK is £10 for a single framed print.
