Cargo vessel; Kiangsu junk
Scale: Unknown. A full hull and rigged model of a Kaingsu trading junk. The hull is carved from a solid piece of wood with the upper works, deck and fittings either pinned or glued on. It is rigged with five masts with fully battened sails (some damaged), with a carved wooden decoration at the head to carry a flag. The hull is decorated along the waterline area with blue, yellow, red and green horizontal stripes along the wale. The bulwark capping is also painted yellow. Together with a carved wooden cradle and fittings, the model is packed in an original wooden box, on which are various written and stencilled inscriptions.
