Cartouche below Hydra
Celestial table globe. Astronomical details on the sphere include a magnitude table inside a cartouche, below Cetus. The stars are marked by their Bayer notation. The Milky Way and the Large Magellanic Cloud are labelled& there are labels for novae in Cygnus and in Ophiuchus. A total of 13 stars and four star groups are named, with one star written in manuscript. The 48 Ptolemaic constellations and the four non-Ptolemaic constellations are drawn. Two of the southern constellations are drawn as well as those of Plancius and some of those of Hevelius.
