Cartouche in North Pacific Ocean
Terrestrial and celestial pocket globe. Geographical details on the terrestrial sphere show trade winds marked by hatched regions in the oceans between the tropics. In North America there is a label, 'Unknown Parts', and California is drawn as an island. Australia is represented according to the Dutch discoveries, 'NEW HOLLAND', 'Dimens Land' and 'N. Zeeland'. Dampier's explorations are indicated by 'N. Britain'. In Asia, there are labels, 'Ch. Wall' for the Great Wall of China, the 'Dominio(n) of Moscovy', and 'Parts Unknown'. There are no tracks of voyages. A total of nine oceans are named.
