Chain nipper or hopper
Scale: Unknown. A working model of a two part chain nipper/hopper to illustrate how a chain would be locked into position on deck once the chain and anchor had either been released or retrieved. It is largely made of metal probably brass in three parts, consisting of a bed screwed to a small wooden block, with the two larger D shaped shackles pivoting. These are both connected by a small rope fitted with a small pin for raising and lowering the two shackles.Original size: 35 mm x 112 mm x 30 mm
