Chatelaine
Brass chatelaine, with an ornamental belt clasp, which is decorated with moulded female figures supporting an enamel plaque depicting an early 18th century gentleman. The central chain is made of linked plates decorated with faces in relief. Depictions of gardening tools decorate the other attachments. The chatelaine comes complete with a thimble, a purse shaped pincushion, a scissor sheath and a spare clip. The chatelaine is inscribed with the words 'Emma Lyon Hamilton from HN', the chatelaine is said to have belonged to Emma, Lady Hamilton (circa 1765-1815), although the provenance of the chatelaine is thought to be dubious.
