Creamware jug transfer-printed in black. Under the lip: 1) a ship wearing the American ensign, with a gun and merchandise placed below the sea. Inscribed on a ribbon: 'SUCCESS TO TRADE'. 2) A pair of compasses in a central roundel showing a gentleman in a country scene, between the arms. 3) A haymaking scene, a girl with a rake and a youth seated drinking. 'SUMMER', 'Or as they rake the green appearing ground/And drive the dusky wave along the mead/The russet hay-cock rises thick behind/In order gay'.
