Creamware jug
A transfer-printed white earthenware jug, on one side a circular portrait of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) with ships behind him and foliage swags above and below. Above the portrait is the inscription 'England Expects that every Man will do his Duty And we will have Twenty of them'; below on a ribbon 'ADMIRAL NELSON' around the portrait 'WHO DEFEATED THE FRENCH FLEET ON THE 21ST OF OCTR 1805 OFF CAPE TRAFALGAR' and within a wreath 'VICTORY'. On the other side of the jug, Britannia is shown mourning at a monument surmounted by an urn and set amongst trees. On the monument is a circular portrait inscribed 'HORATIA (sic) NELSON' on the plinth 'Born Septm 29th 1758 Died Octr 21, 1805'. Beneath the print is the caption 'Britannia weeping o'er the Ashes of her Matchless Hero, LORD NELSON'. Beneath the lip of the jug is a picture of a ship with a pennant and pre-1707 pattern ensign on a green sea, the inscription below 'SUCCESS TO THE WOODEN WALLS OF OLD ENGLAND'.The black transfers are hand-coloured in red, green and yellow, and the neck, rim and handle are painted with silver lustre.

We print everything to order so delivery times may vary but all framed pictures are despatched within 5-7 days via courier or recorded mail.
Due to the coronovirus pandemic and Brexit situation, current shipping times may be longer, particularly for destinations outside the UK.
Delivery to the UK is £10 for a single framed print.
We will happily replace your order if everything isn’t 100% perfect.
