'Cutty Sark' (1869) waiting in Sydney Harbour for the new season's wool
In 1883, the 'Cutty Sark' began regular voyages in the wool trade. When this photograph was taken she was under the command of Captain Richard Woodget. Woodget captained her from 1885 until her last wool-carrying voyage in 1894/5. Under his strict rule the 'Cutty Sark' made some remarkably fast passages between London and Australia.
