dedication in Atlantic Ocean

Terrestrial table globe. Geographical details on the sphere are the same as Greuter, GLB0082. There are compass roses, but no loxodromes are drawn. California is shown as a peninsular. In North America there are labels for 'FRETNUM DAVIS' and 'Nieu Nederland', and in Asia the Great Wall of China is drawn. Around the South Pole there is a label for a hypothetical southern continent. There are decorative scenes, ships and monsters in the oceans.

There are nine notes on discoveries, for example, in North America within a decorative cartouche; and in South America, around Cape Horn and in the hypothetical southern continent inside a cartouche with a globe depicted on top of it and two navigators at the sides, one with a cross-staff and the other with a quadrant. A total of 11 oceans are named.
