Dowel
An unidentified relic of Sir John Franklin's last expedition 1845-1848. A mahogany dowel, the end is slightly bulbous and terminates in a wedge shape with a slot in it, the other end is broken. It is similar to other pieces from Hayes River recovered by the Schwatka Search Expedition 1878-1879. The expedition accounts mention 'a few trifling relics' obtained at Hayes River but do not specify in detail. Schwatka was at this Inuit encampment from 15-17 May 1879.

Delivery to the UK is £10 for a single framed print.
