Dutch boats in a strong breeze
A fishing boat is depicted to the left of centre, moving briskly in a strong breeze. A smaller boat is in the foreground to the right with a man standing in the stern holding part of a net. The seated man in the boat wearing a red hat holds an oar and looks towards the direction of the net. The sails of the small boat are down, and the third figure leans over the far side with his back to the viewer. In the larger fishing boat the sails are up and billowing in the wind, as it is pitched towards the viewer.
