Dutch fleet at anchor, with states yachts under way
This narrow horizontal drawing shows ships of the various Dutch squadrons: centre, van and rear, at anchor. These are spread across the sheet. In the centre are two States yachts saluting and, on the right, with a narrow stern, a flute. These three are sailing away from the viewer towards the fleet. On the right is a galjoot, which just below is marked 'g', presumably as a reminder. The drawing has a curious inscription 'keer' [Turn over], and on the back 'k=3 den dagh vand ander sijd soo beter sijn' [? The kind of day on the other side would be better].
