Dutch men-of-war off a jetty
A man-of-war is shown in the centre of the painting firing a salute. It flies the Dutch flag from the stern and masts and has the emblem of a golden sun on the stern. The sails of a second man-of-war are visible just behind it to the right and to the left a small states yacht emerges from behind the cannon smoke. Land is visible in the far distance on the left.
