Earthenware jug commemorating Admiral of the Fleet Richard Howe (1726-1799)
It has an applied oval medallion in relief below the lip of a ship, a bow of blue ribbon above. 'Ad HOWE' is inscribed below the ship. The jug also has hand-painted decoration, consisting of a spray of flowers and foliage in blue, ochre, green and brown on each side and around the neck a border of laurel. It has a reeded handle with brown decoration.
