Edmond Halley, Astronomer Royal (1656-1746)
The portrait has been reduced in size, but it is very likely that the mezzotint by G. White (PAF3352) is based on it. The mezzotint was published after Halley became Astronomer Royal in 1721, but the painting may be rather earlier.
