Engine model
Scale: Unknown. A working model of a double oscillating engine complete with a large flywheel and wooden drive belt pulley. The model is made almost entirely of various metals and shows the two oscillating cylinders set roughly at 45 degree angles to each other and connect to a single crank shaft. The model is painted in places a black colour and as well as a very dark green, and highlights mainly the static parts of the engine, the crack shaft bearings frame and cross shaped metal baseboard. Connected to the cylinders and crankshaft are various static valves together with pipe work for ancilliary components that run off the engine or connect it to the boiler and feet pumps. At the opposite end of the large flywheel, connected to the crankshaft is a wooden turned circular pulley which once may have been used to show the engine working for exhibition or demonstration purposes.
