Equipment model

Scale: Unknown. A model of a plank former, used for bending planks for shape required before fitting to a hull. The model is made of both wood and iron with the bending bed constructed of a single piece of wood inscribed with individual planks, mounted on several rectangular beams. On the deck are a series of iron bands, which have been drilled with a number of holes at different intervals and at different angles to each other, into which are located the vertical pairs of adjustable iron clamps. The method of bending the plank is demonstrated in the model by turning a number of square headed threaded bolts drilled with a small hole, through which a t-bar is passed through to enable turning. The model is fitted with a single plank in the process of being bent into shape.

There are two paper labels applied to the model, one hand written in ink with the number "53" and is applied to the plank itself, and a printed label with the number "54" applied to the wooden bed and beam.
