Flagmen of Lowestoft: George Monck, 1st Duke of Albemarle (1608-1670)
This is one of the 'flagmen' series commissioned by Charles II's brother James, Duke of York after the Battle of Lowestoft, 3 June 1665. It was the first major action of the Second Dutch War, in which James commanded the fleet.
