Scale: 1:48. Full hull model of the 'Mary Rose' (1509), a 60 gun sailing warship. Model is decked, equipped and rigged. The hull is finished in a natural varnished wood of varying types, with the lighter species used for the upper deck planking, bulwarks, masts and spars. Both the standing and running rigging has been left in the natural state of the cord, including the wooden blocks and deadeyes. It is also complete with a variety of armaments on both decks as well as the forecastle and quarter deck. The cannon are turned in brass which has been bronzed, all of which are mounted on a variety of wooden carriages. The rig consists of a bowsprit , five masts complete with circular fighting tops, square-rigged on the fore and main masts, lateen on the mizzen and bonaventure masts. There is also a pair of large anchors rigged to rope cables and stowed along the channels. The whole model is mounted on a pair of wooden crutches on its original display baseboard.Bassett-Lowke Ltd.
