Full hull model of salvage tug 'Salvonia' (1951)

Scale 1:48. A full hull model of the ocean going salvage tug 'Salvonia' (1951) made entirely in wood with metal and organic material fittings and painted in realistic colours. The hull is painted brick red below the waterline, black above with a white strake encompassing the bow and a second white strake that extends most of the port and starboard broadsides and encompassing the stern. Hull fittings include anchors stowed at the port and starboard bows, bilge keels, single row of portholes, single four-bladed propeller and rectangular rudder. Other fittings include a foremast with navigation lights and mainmast with derrick; forward bulwarks, the uppermost part painted white; white-painted superstructure positioned forward with enclosed pilot house and open bridge above; single, vertical, lozenge-shaped funnel painted black with a broad blue horizontal stripe and OTS company insignia; and equipment that includes a large electric towing winch towing wire and spare towing equipment. The model is mounted on a pair of modern tubular metal pillar supports and displayed on a rectangular museum baseboard. On port and starboard bows ‘Salvonia’. On stern ‘Salvonia London’.
