George III (1738-1820)
Painted about 1800, the king is shown wearing general's full dress uniform. Windsor Castle can be seen in the background. A number of versions of the portrait exist. The prime version of 1799-1800 is a full length in the Royal Collection, a view of the King's horse held by a groom to the left and a background of trees to the right.
