Globe x-ray

Terrestrial table globe. It forms a pair with a celestial globe by Hill, GLB0092. Geographical details on the sphere include loxodromes for 32 compass points. Trade winds and monsoons are indicated by arrows, and California is drawn as a peninsula. In North America there is a label 'lands disc. 1741', and a large blank area labelled 'parts unknown'. Australia and New Zealand are drawn according to the Dutch discoveries, but a hypothetical south eastern coastline has been added to Australia. There is a picture of the Great Wall of China. A total of four oceans are named. The track of Anson is labelled 'Ansons Tract, Going Out, Adm.I Ansons Tract, Ansons Return'.
