Scale: 1:24. A contemporary full hull model of a gunboat (circa 1788), built and carved from the solid and finished in the Georgian style. The model is decked with removable hatches, rigged with a single mast and gaff, and a single 32-pounder cannon mounted on a sliding carriage in the bow. Measuring 48 feet in length by 14 feet in the beam it had an approximate tonnage of 40 (builders old measurement). This model agrees very closely with an original plan dated 1787, held in the NMM collection. It appears to have been restored in recent years.
