HMS 'Captain' (1869)
Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the starboard side of the turret ship HMS 'Captain' (1869) made entirely in wood and painted in realistic colours. The hull is painted light pink-brown below the waterline, black above with an off-white gunwale. Hull details include bilge keel, two recessed apertures for the two gun turrets and starboard propeller and mounting. stump bowsprit and tripod masts, two wide-diameter turrets, ventilators and a single funnel painted ochre with a black top. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame with bevelled edge.
