HMS 'Malabar' (1866)
Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the port side of the troopship HMS 'Malabar' (1866), made entirely in wood and painted in realistic colours. The hull is painted brick red below the waterline and black above. There is a well for the propeller which is either missing or was not originally fitted. Fittings include stump bowsprit, foremast, mainmast, and mizzen mast, and a single retractable funnel painted black. There is a long forecastle and poop deck. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame with bevelled edge. On plaque
